Yale Student Suspect: Annie Le Lab Technician Is Suspect?

LimauAis Annie Le Lab Technician, Yale Student Suspect

According to both the New Haven Register and the New Haven Independent, the Yale student suspect – that is to say, the suspect in the murder of Annie Le – is the lab technician who works in the Yale medical school lab building where the 24-year-old Yale University pharmacology graduate student was found dead Sunday.

A crowd of suspicion has hovered over the Yale student suspect since defensive scratch marks were found on his chest and he failed a lie detector test administered by the FBI. In addition, the Yale student suspect reportedly stopped answering questions posed by the police and invoked his Miranda rights by asking for an attorney. At the present time, the Yale student suspect is not in police custody.

According to the New Haven Independent, the Yale student suspect may of had a romantic interest in Annie Le that was not reciprocated (Annie Le was to be married to her college sweetheart Jonathan Widowsky on the day her body was discovered.) If this is true, if the Yale student suspect (who, incidentally, is also being referred to in Google searches as “Annie Le lab technician” and “Annie Le suspect”) did have an unrequited love interest in Annie Le and if he ends up being convicted of the murder of Annie Le, that would explain a lot.

It would explain how someone could commit murder in a building (the Yale medical school lab building at 10 Amistad Street) that is, to say the least, highly secure. It has been reported in multiple media outlets that the Yale medical school lab building has some 70 cameras focused on it.

This strongly suggests that the murder of Annie Le was a spontaneous crime of passion; someone who carefully plans out a murder would never do the crime in a building that is under such heavy surveillance and requires badge access at every entrance. In addition, it has been reported that the perpetrator left DNA evidence at the crime scene on some bloody clothes. Clearly, this does not appear to be a premeditated murder.

It appears as though a mountain of evidence is forming around the Yale student suspect and it is only a matter of time before he is arrested for the murder of Annie Le.

It can’t happen soon enough.
