Pamela Laverne Long has been found. Pamela Laverne Long was wanted for questioning in the murder of charged in connection to the death of Byrd and Melanie Billings, the couple with 16 children found dead in their home a week ago, who were shot dead in their sleep recently in Florida’s Panhandle.

Pamela Laverne Long: Byrd And Melanie Billings Murder Case

Pamela Laverne Long is now being described as a “person of interest” in the murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings. As we reported earlier this week three men were taken in to custody with relation to the case. It is important to mention that Escambia County officials made it clear that Pamela Laverne Long is not “in custody,” and that Pamela Laverne Long is reporting to them on her own volition.

Pamela Laverne Long is now traveling back to Florida with her lawyer in a police escort. Escambia County Sherriff officials showed her photo in a nationally televised news conference and announced that she was wanted for questioning. Pamela Laverne Long apparently didn’t know they were looking for her, and was in Alabama when law enforcement officers spotted her in a town called Orange Beach.

Pamela Laverne Long is the landlord and close friend of one of the men charged in the murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings, Leonard Gonzalez Jr.

The Sherriff of Escambia County, Florida, David Morgan, said that he knows Pamela Laverne Long “was associated with (Gonzalez Jr.) up until the day before the murders.”

Two of the men are being charged with murder, and the third is being charged with evidence tampering after he reportedly tried to alter the getaway van that was caught by surveillance cameras. In addition to the three men already arrested, four others have been taken in.

Police are also searching for another person of interest, who was reportedly responsible for trying to disable the security system that the Billingses had in place.

He or she obviously did not succeed, because, in a major break in the case, the getaway van was caught on video. Photos of the van were spread all over by the news media which helped to identify the first three men arrested: Leonard Gonalez Jr., Leonard Gonzalez Sr., and Wayne Coldiron.
