Claire Tourand, mother of 4 Children, Possibly En Route To Mexico.
SACRAMENTO, California. A mother suspected of abducting her four children in Nevada has prompted an Amber Alert that authorities have extended to much of California and Arizona.
Deputies said they believe Claire Tourand took her four children, Ivan, Jakelyne, Megan and Tyson Mata Martinez, aged 9 to 4 from the Reno area Saturday. Authorities have issued a warrant for the 34-year-old’s arrest, according to Washoe County, Nevada., Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Brooke Keast.
A family court judge has also issued an order for the return of the children, stating there is immediate risk of harm to them.
Claire Tourand was supposed to meet with social services earlier this week but did not appear, authorities said.
The children may be traveling in a white 1998 Mercury Sable sedan with Nevada license plates 369-SDH.
Police said Tourand may be headed to Mexico and may try to drive there by going through California.
