How does the internet speed of the iPhone compare to that of the blackberry curve?

Technically they should be the same speed, but from everyone I know who has a blackberry the internet speed and capabilities stink. Most normal phones do a better job at internet then the blackberry it seems. Personally I use a Sidekick and it is much faster and can browse more webpages than the Blackberry my friend tries to use to do the same. From what I hear the iPhone performs about the same or slightly better than the Sidekick in Internet speed. Since the iPhone has a wifi mode, it definitely has the faster capability than the Blackberry or any other phone, but when it is not using wifi it is pretty much comparable to the rest, although Blackberry just does not perform all that great in my opinion.
