One thing shouldn’t have to be pointed out: when stating that “Blanket hates the light” no one’s suggesting that he’s a refugee from the Thriller video, some creature of the night who will dissolve on contact with sunlight (although the latest incarnations of movie vampires sparkle, don’t they, rather different from what Bram Stoker had in mind). No, rather, the suggestion is that he’s not keen on the light of celebrity, arguably the one thing that did so much damage to his own father’s life.
